Paul Singleton - Director of School Standards

Paul Singleton

Paul is Director of School Standards and leader of the School Improvement Team for Keystone Academy Trust. In this role, he is responsible for leading the trust’s assessment strategy and working with KAT academies to secure the highest quality of education for all. Paul is also the Lincolnshire Strategic Assessment Lead and has overall responsibility for ensuring that the LA meets its statutory assessment requirements for moderation and monitoring at Key Stage 1 and 2. Prior to this role, Paul gained experience of school leadership, across two contrasting schools, at a variety of levels including English and Phonics Lead, Phase Lead, Assistant Headteacher and Head of School.

Helen Ackrill - Director of Staff Development

In her 23-year teaching career, Helen has held a range of different roles within education. She was a full time KS2 teacher, which included 12 years in Year 6, and she held the position of Maths Subject Leader. Helen is now Director of Staff Development for Keystone Academy Trust and for the past eight years, has been the Primary SCITT Manager for The Deepings SCITT and Senior Lead Moderator for Lincolnshire Local Authority. Within these roles, she trains teachers concerning teaching, learning and assessment with particular expertise in writing and mathematics. In 2020, she became an accredited associate of the Teacher Development Trust.

Denise Parker - Director of SEND and Provision

Prior to joining Keystone Academy Trust, Denise was a primary school teacher for 23 years where she also held a variety of senior roles. Denise’s passion and expertise lies within Special Educational Needs. She held the role of SENCo for over 15 years and was in one of the first cohorts of the National SENCo Award. Denise still contributes to the delivery of the National SENCo award, completes SEN reviews and other SEND training across the county. Denise is the Director of SEND and Provision for Keystone Academy Trust and is the Delivery Partner ECT Lead on behalf of L.E.A.D Teaching School Hub Appropriate Body Services.

Dr Jeannie Bulman - Senior Lead KS2 Moderator

Dr Jeannie Bulman

Senior Lead KS2 Moderator

Jeannie is an independent consultant who specialises in all aspects of Primary English. She is an experienced primary teacher, consultant, trainer, researcher, author and STA approved Senior Lead KS2 Moderator for Lincolnshire Local Authority. Her own PhD research (University of Sheffield) was awarded the UKLA prize for research in 2016, for ascertaining a progression in reading film and establishing links between the comprehension of film and print text. This led to the publication of this research by Palgrave in 2017 (Children’s Reading of Film and Visual Literacy in the Primary Curriculum).

Gill Arnold - Project Manager

Gill Arnold

Project Manager

Gill works for Keystone Academy Trust as the School Improvement Team Project Manager. In this varied role, she takes responsibility for governance and compliance across the trust as well as working strategically to ensure the smooth planning and delivery of the moderation contract to Lincolnshire schools. Gill is also a Prince 2 Practitioner enabling her to support the trust to run significant projects.

Dr Jeannie Bulman - Senior Lead KS2 Moderator

Belinda Lane

Administrative Assistant

Belinda recently joined Keystone Academy Trust following a long career in corporate banking. In this role, Belinda supports the School Improvement Team with the administration of trust wide projects and organisation of training events run by the trust. Belinda also acts as the Clerk to Governors for several schools within the trust and is responsible for advising the governing body on constitutional matters, duties and powers.
